چکیده

This paper addresses the estimation of time delay between two spatially separated noisy signals by system identification modeling with the input and output corrupted by additive white Gaussian noise. The proposed method is based on a modified adaptive Butler-Cantoni equalizer that decouples noise variance estimation from channel estimation. The bias in time delay estimates that is induced by input noise is reduced by an IIR whitening filter whose coefficients are found by the Burg algorithm. For step time-variant delays, a dual mode operation scheme is adopted in which we define a normal operating (tracking) mode and an interrupt operating (optimization) mode. In the tracking mode, only a few coefficients of the impulse response vector are monitored through L1-normed finite forward differences tracking, while in the optimization mode, the time delay optimized. Simulation results confirm the superiority of the proposed approach at low signal-to-noise ratios. key words: time delay estimation, adaptive Butler-Cantoni equalizer, delay optimization, L1-norm, finite difference

Adaptive Multi-Input Multi-Output Fading Channel Equalization Using Kalman Estimation

Absrrucr-This paper addresses the problem of adaptive channel tracking and equalization for multi-input multi-output (MIMO) time-variant frequency-selective channels. A finite-length minimum-mean-squarederror decision-feedback equalizer (MMSE-DFE) performs the equalization task, while a Kalman filter tracks the MIMO channel, which models the corrupting effects of inter-symbol interference @SI),...

Finite time stabilization of time-delay nonlinear systems with uncertainty and time-varying delay

In this paper, the problem of finite-time stability and finite-time stabilization for a specific class of dynamical systems with nonlinear functions in the presence time-varying delay and norm-bounded uncertainty terms is investigated. Nonlinear functions are considered to satisfy the Lipchitz conditions. At first, sufficient conditions to guarantee the finite-time stability for time-delay nonl...

Finite Delay Maximum SNR Breadth-First Equalizer

Finite delay breadth-first equalizer for inter-symbol interference (ISI) channels is presented. Based on the maximum signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) criterion, optimal structures for all breadth-first equalizers are found. Recursive algorithms for the Ungerboeck and the Forney structures are developed, which are parallel to the structures of the well-known maximum likelihood sequence detector (MLSD).

This paper considers the problem of adaptive output feedback tracking control for a class of nonstrict-feedback nonlinear systems with unknown time-varying delays and unknown backlash-like hysteresis. Fuzzy logic systems are used to estimate the unknown nonlinear functions. Based on the Lyapunov–Krasovskii method, the control scheme is constructed by using the backstepping and adaptive techniqu...
